Welcome to the 3rd Annual Online International Virtual Assistants Convention

Thursday, May 15, 2008 ~ Saturday, May 17, 2008

8 a.m. to 12 midnight, Daily

Brought to you by the Alliance for Virtual Businesses, the 3rd Annual Online International Virtual Assistant's Convention ("OIVAC") is a virtual trade show and educational opportunity conducted 100% online through easy to use web conferencing technology. This year's theme, "Pathways to Successful VA Practices:  Using Communication & Technology to Enhance Business" highlights various communication and technology resources Virtual Assistants and their clients use to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

The OIVAC also offers participants timely training, informative workshops, motivating seminars, business showcases and casual networking sessions, along with an exhibitor hall and virtual trade show booths -- all open around the clock and accessible from your desktop or laptop computer.   This "live" yet virtual environment can be experienced from the comfort of your own home via any Internet connected computer. Imagine attending an industry leading event with no travel/airport hassles, hotel and other bills, fatigue or exorbitant registration fees?  Most importantly - learn from industry leaders with no precious time away from your home, family or business!

Special Activities

IVAD Celebration

On the third Friday of May each year, the OIVAC recognizes the spirit of the Virtual Assistant industry and the contributions made by VAs to all business by celebrating International Virtual Assistants Day (officially listed in Chase's Calendar of Events). During the IVAD celebration, the OIVAC honors two outstanding VAs by awarding the Janet Jordon Achievement Award and the Thomas Leonard Virtual Assistant of Distinction during this live and open to the public ceremony.

In addition, all IVAD participants share in an uplifting, motivational message from our special guest speaker, Mr. Paddy Spruce and the opportunity to network, network, network. You don’t want to miss this free event - so mark your calendar right now (May 15, from 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EDT). Click here to learn more about the Celebration.

Introducing the Virtual Assistant Industry to Savvy Business Owners

The first ever Internet-based "Intro to VA Industry" program will educate invited entrepreneurs and business owners about the benefits of working with virtual assistants. These three (3) sessions are set aside for business owners curious about the VA industry as well as individuals familiar with the industry and want answers to unasked questions – why working with a VA is a viable, cost-effective option, how to start, etc.

Attendees will learn from veteran VAs what to look for when hiring a VA, what tasks they can perform, how they’re paid and much, much more. If you know an entrepreneur who has ever considered working with a VA and has questions or are new to the concept, be sure to invite them to attend. Note:  These segments are specifically scheduled for the inquisitive business owner. VAs wishing to attend may choose a session as part of their registration selection process. Click here for more details.

Blog Hopping and Podcast Tour

That’s right, back by popular demand! We will travel the globe again, visiting VAs and entrepreneurs, responding to questions everyone want answered by veteran VA and OIVAC chairperson, Sharon Williams. Last year’s tour generated several interesting questions, which were soon followed by informative, in-depth answers. If you are a blogger or podcaster, we’d love to stop by and chat.

If you’d like to be a part of this year’s tour contact info@oivac.com. And, everyone is invited to tag along and gather clues to solve the mystery puzzle and win prizes. Click here for the list of scheduled tour stops and the puzzle board.

Read what participants from past years have to say about how the OIVAC introduced “Pathways to Successful VA Practices”:

Read what some attendees had to say about the 2007 OIVAC:

Kathie did an excellent job of presenting her material. She expressed my frustration with others in their lack of email etiquette. Janice gave me so much information with her How to Respond to an RFP! I am a newbie with my own VA business I'm treasuring my notes from her.  Lyn shared a wealth of knowledge with the group about starting a VA business. I will put every tip to use!!

I loved it!!! I loved it!!! I loved it!!! Material was presented in a clear an understandable way. I only wish I had taken more seminars. I will next year.

This was my first experience and I was amazed by the technology; impressed by the work of the Committee; inspired and motivated by the speakers; and loved the friendliness, banter and ease of communication with fellow participants. It was better than anything I could have imagined.

Very well worth it. The availability of replay if I could not attend at seminar time was appreciated, and I could attend the seminar to fit my schedule.

Michael Russer gave me some new ways to present the benefits of working with a VA.

Remarkable! It's like traveling across the world to learn from the pros without ever leaving your home.

Donna Messer's seminar, The Power of Positive Linking, was wonderful! She is a very inspiring person and a great speaker. She not only spoke to us but engaged us and offered us her assistance after the convention. I will truly not forget her.

I thought the Convention was very well-planned and thought out. It also offered a great array of topics from which to choose.

It was FABULOUS!

I thought Rod Payne's presentation was fantastic. Very informative.
