BALTIMORE, MD -- April 07, 2008 - Using the latest
technological tools and the Internet, Sharon Williams,
chairperson of Alliance for Virtual Businesses (A4VB),
always envisioned creating an event that would gather
together virtual assistants (VAs) worldwide for the
purpose of mentoring, networking and education. Her dream
finally became a reality in 2005 when the Online
International Virtual Assistants Convention (OIVAC)
happened with just one click of the computer mouse.
The 3rd annual OIVAC runs from May 15-17, 2008. Entitled
"Pathways to Successful VA Practices: Using Communication
& Technology to Enhance Business", highlights various
communication and technology resources virtual assistants
can implement to increase business. This internet-based
convention is designed to bring together all virtual
assistants for best practices seminars, training
workshops, presentations and exhibits. Seminar topics
include such diverse topics as tune up your tech, offering
podcasting and audio services to your clients, creating a
personal and company profile that attract clients, create
a website to showcase your talents, create multiple
streams of income: affiliate and internet marketing in a
nutshell. The online convention includes a gala
celebration and award ceremony honoring individuals
dedicated to advancing the VA industry through mentoring,
education and goodwill. Exhibitor halls are "live" 24/7.

"We're inviting all VAs -- every aspiring, emerging and
veteran virtual professional, along with clients, small
businesses, corporate supporters, associates and potential
prospects to participate in our global VA celebration,"
says Williams. "It will allow us to bring together all VA
organizations and their memberships irregardless of
geographic boundaries."
Virtual Assistants or VAs are independent entrepreneurs
who work remotely and use the latest technology to deliver
professional administrative, creative, managerial,
technical, business back-office and/or personal support
services to busy clients.
Since 1996 more than 40,000 professionals around the world
have become VAs, and the industry continues to grow as
more jobs are outsourced and more workers catch the
entrepreneurship fever. This industry consists of
highly-skilled working mothers, administrative assistants,
real estate assistants and others who decided to start
their own businesses in order to achieve a better
work/life balance. According to a study conducted by
Brenner Books in conjunction with A4VB in 2004, the United
States accounts for the largest number of VAs followed by
Canada, Australia and Great Britain.
"We have something for everyone -- from partnering and
relationship development to introduction of new software,
Web 2.0 marketing strategies and Internet-based technology
enhancements - all accessible from the comforts of a home
or office," says Williams. We look forward to meeting you
at an online seminar, networking session or while visiting
an exhibitor, all from your desktop or laptop computer.

Virtual
Assistant Drops Clues During 45 Day Podcast & Blog Hopping
Tour
Baltimore,
MD
– You can usually find what you’re looking for by
following foot prints or other clues. That’s just what
Virtual Assistants and Small Business owners alike are
doing as they follow Sharon Williams on her adventure
around the Web. The Podcast and Blog Hopping Virtual
Assistant leaves clues at each of her stops – there will
be 45 in all. Participants follow Williams around the Web
as she travels from blog to podcast on her quest to
promote the virtual assistant industry and collect the
clue of the day. The clue is a scrambled word that they
must unscramble and then record on a puzzle board. Puzzle
boards are available on the OIVAC site.
Once
participants have visited all 45 blogs and collected and
unscrambled all the clues – they are ready to try their
skill at deciphering the phrase. A drawing will be held of
all the correct entries and the grand prize winner will
receive a prize valued at $500. Additional prizes donated
by VAs and business entrepreneurs will be awarded during
the 2nd Annual Online International Virtual
Assistant Convention held May 17-19. Participants learn
something in the process. Williams answers questions posed
by the blog owners and some of them are quite thought
provoking. “I’ve had to really do my homework on a couple
of them!” chuckles Williams. The whole idea is to educate
the public about the virtual assistant industry and that
seems to be happening with the variety of questions being

Podcast & Blog Hopping Virtual Assistant Promotes
Industry During 45 Day Tour
Baltimore, MD ―
We've heard about or read about tours designed to
promote all kinds of causes or industries. But you've
never read about something like this before. Sharon
Williams, also known as the Podcast and Blog Hopping
Virtual Assistant, will embark on a 45 Day Virtual Tour
designed to promote the Virtual Assistant Industry. It's
a grueling schedule, but Williams, who has been in
training for this event, says she's up for the
challenge.
The idea is simple. Sharon will visit a different blog
or podcast each day, to answer questions about the Virtual
Assistant Industry and its upcoming annual online
convention. Utilizing social networking, she will
introduce virtual assistance to bloggers around the world,
with stops planned in Australia, Canada, the US, England
and other countries. Ms. Williams will respond to
questions regarding the industry's history, technology
trends, benefits of working with VAs -- basically anything
blog readers want to know about one of the fastest growing
home-based businesses of the 21st century.
A Virtual Assistant (VA) is an entrepreneur providing
administrative and other business support services to
business owners, remotely. "This tour is an opportunity to
educate executives and entrepreneurs about the advantages
of working with VAs," states Ms. Williams. "Overworked and
overwhelmed small business owners and solopreneurs can now
delegate back office and mundane tasks to more than 20,000
work-from-home admin specialists, while they concentrate
on responsibilities that fuel their passion."
As an added twist to this virtual event, Ms. Williams
will leave a mystery clue at each stop, as well as a link
to the previous stop's clue. Participants who solve the
puzzle at the conclusion of the tour will be eligible for
prizes donated by Virtual Assistants and other industry
supporting businesses.
The Tour starts April 1 -- no fooling. The first week's
schedule is as follows:
Prize drawings will occur during the
International Virtual Assistant Day (IVAD) recognition and
awards ceremony scheduled, Friday, May 18, 2007, at 5:30
p.m. EDT. The IVAD celebration is online, free and open to
the public. Detail can be found at OIVAC.
